Steamboat is a large mountain range located in the Routt National Forest comprising of 165 trails over 2965 acres (1200 ha). Steamboat's longest run, "Why Not" is more than 3 miles (4.8 km) long! Because of Steamboats close proximity to an arid climate, the 331 inches (859 cm) of annual snowfall is legendary and known as "champagne powder", dry and deep. Steamboat has a vertical drop of 3668 feet (1118 m) and is home to the world famous Maverick Superpipe.
