Vail is comprised of four pedestrian villages that include Golden Peak, Vail Village, Lionshead Village and Cascade Village. The villages attract people from all over the world.
Golden Peak is the most easterly base area of Vail Mountain. It's well-known for being quickest access point to the top of Vail Mountain and the Back Bowls. Golden Peak is less that a ten minute walk to Vail Village and has access to the east part of Vail Mountain. Vail Village is a main access point for all kinds of mountain activities. The charismatic pedestrian village has an assortment of hotels, restaurants, galleries, boutiques and nightclubs. Lionshead Village is about 1/2 mile (1 km) west of Vail Village and features shops, restaurants, hotels and Vail’s gondola. Vail Village can be accessed by foot or by the free in town shuttle system that runs every five to ten minutes. Cascade Village is the most westerly access point to Vail Mountain and is located just about a half mile from Lionshead.
